Maternity leave
Maternity leave can last for up to 52 weeks. If you are entitled to receive Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP), you are eligible to receive enhanced maternity pay from the ABI for the first 18 weeks of maternity leave on the following basis:
Above 26 weeks’ service by the “Qualifying Week”
- 100% of pay for the first 12 weeks
- 50% of pay for the next 6 weeks
- SMP for the remaining 21 weeks
- (in each case inclusive of SMP)
Paternity leave
Providing you are eligible for paternity leave and qualify for Statutory Paternity Pay (SPP). We go beyond the statutory requirements and offer 2 weeks' Paternity Leave at full pay.
Adoption Leave
In an adoption case, surrogacy case, or a fostering for adoption case, adoption leave can last for a maximum of 52 weeks, providing you meet the eligibility conditions.
If you are entitled to receive Statutory Adoption Pay (SAP), you are eligible to receive Enhanced Adoption Pay for the first 18 weeks of Adoption Leave on the following basis:
Above 26 weeks' service by the "Qualifying Week"
- 100% of pay for the first 12 weeks
- 50% of pay for the next 6 weeks
- SMP for the remaining 21 weeks
- (in each case inclusive of SAP)
